Raptors go for 12th straight win vs. OKC

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors will be trying for a franchise-record 12th consecutive win Sunday afternoon but they will have to do it against a motivated Oklahoma City Thunder team.

The Raptors, who lead the Eastern Conference, will be playing a team that is involved in the tight race for playoff spots in the Western Conference.

The Thunder started an 11-game stretch with teams that have records above .500 with a 121-113 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.


Wolves look to cool surging Rockets

A week ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves knocked off an elite Western Conference team on their homecourt by asking Karl Anthony-Towns to make the plays down the stretch.

The Timberwolves get another crack at beating an elite conference foe Sunday night when they host the NBA-best Houston Rockets.


Pelicans aim to get on track vs. Celtics

NEW ORLEANS -- It wasn't too long ago that the New Orleans Pelicans had won 10 consecutive games to climb to as high as the third seed in the Western Conference playoff race.

But after losing 107-101 to the Houston Rockets Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center, the Pelicans (39-30) have dropped four of their last five games to fall to the No. 7 spot in the West entering a critical match-up against the Boston Celtics (47-22) on Sunday.


Jazz defeat Kings for ninth straight win

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) The Utah Jazz struggled from long range. They were on at the free-throw line.

Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points, and the Jazz beat the Sacramento Kings 103-97 on Saturday night for their ninth straight victory.


Lillard, Blazers get 12th victory in row

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Damian Lillard says Portland's current streak is more about the Blazers than their opponents.

Lillard had 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, and the Blazers beat the Detroit Pistons 100-87 on Saturday night for their 12th straight victory.


LeBron's 33-12-12 help Cavs edge Bulls

CHICAGO (AP) As he exited the court, LeBron James brought a young fan to tears.

The Cavaliers' superstar made the boy's night by tossing him his sweat-soaked arm sleeve on the way to the locker room. As for the Bulls? All he gave them was more misery.


Beal, Gortat lead Wizards over Pacers

WASHINGTON (AP) Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards delivered in a big game in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Beal scored 19 points, Marcin Gortat had 18 and the Wizards beat the Pacers 109-102 on Saturday night in a possible postseason preview.


Green leads depleted Warriors over Suns

PHOENIX (AP) Even with Golden State's Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson on the sidelines, the Phoenix Suns couldn't beat the Warriors.

Quinn Cook did his best Curry imitation, scoring 16 of his career-high 28 points in a dominant third quarter, and the severely depleted Warriors handed the Suns their eighth straight loss and 23rd in 25 games, 124-109 on Saturday night.


Grizzlies stun Nuggets, end 19-game skid

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) The Denver Nuggets did something no NBA team has done in almost seven weeks - lost to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dillon Brooks scored 24 points, Tyreke Evans added 20 and the Grizzlies snapped a 19-game losing streak with a 101-94 victory over the Nuggets on Saturday night.


Giannis' 33-12 help Bucks hold off Hawks

MILWAUKEE (AP) The Milwaukee Bucks pushed the pace and kept their composure late in the fourth quarter. The Atlanta Hawks struggled to regain their footing in the closing minutes after their best ball-handler fouled out.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates capitalized for a 122-117 win on Saturday.
